The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) operates an X-ray crystallography laboratory (the XRCL) to service research samples predominantly, though not exclusively, from its School of Chemistry with centers in Durban and Pietermaritzburg. The renovated laboratory is housed in the School of Chemistry @ Pietermaritzburg.

We have a range of services available and different cost schedules for contract work. Please consult the relevant section of this web site for more information.  Procedures for sample submission are given along with downloadable sample submission forms.

Please note that this Web site is in the process of being developed and not all of the links may have been correctly edited. We are in the process of transferring and enhancing the information from our old Web site. Furthermore, we plan to run a free teaching component in powder X-ray diffraction using CCD technology from this Web site in the near future. A single crystal structure solution and refinement module is also planned.
